Description
Are We the Place for You?
Princeton Federal Credit Union ($170M) in Princeton, NJ, is looking for its next Director of Human Resources.
Princeton Federal Credit Union (PFCU), proudly serving over 8,500 members since 1972, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead our HR function and champion a positive, people-centered culture. This is a pivotal leadership role that will help shape the future of our organization as we grow and evolve to meet the needs of our members and team. PFCU serves a diverse and growing field of membership that includes individuals from over 95 Select Employer and School Groups, as well as all members of the Financial Fitness Association.
Is This the Career for You?
Are you a people-focused HR leader who enjoys blending strategic work with meaningful day-to-day impact? Do you excel at “hands-on” HR – rolling up your sleeves as a “department of one” - building relationships, solving challenges, and serving as a trusted partner to employees across an organization? If so, Princeton Federal Credit Union may be the ideal next step in your career.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen the culture of a member-centered credit union where people truly matter. Because we are a small team of about 30 employees, you will be a visible, accessible leader who works closely with staff at every level. Your ability to listen with empathy, foster trust, and provide practical guidance will make you an essential resource throughout the organization.
We’re seeking someone with strong energy, technological confidence, and a willingness to handle both logistical and strategic human resources work. In our environment, everyone contributes, so we need a leader who embraces a hands-on approach and sees it as an exciting opportunity to help build a strong foundation for the future. Collaboration is key, as is comfort navigating HR systems and tools, including ADP and Compease.
Your responsibilities will span core HR functions such as benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting and hiring strategy, performance management, payroll and HR technology support. You’ll also help empower employees to use our online HR portal, encouraging a culture of self-service while remaining available for guidance. Flexibility is important.
One of your first major initiatives will involve finalizing the transition from our current money purchase plan to a new 401(k) plan with expanded features. You’ll work closely with knowledgeable external partners, so the ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with third-party vendors is essential.
If you’re excited by the idea of leading with both heart and expertise and making a meaningful difference for employees while supporting a mission-driven organization, we invite you to explore this opportunity with Princeton Federal Credit Union.
