Position Summary
The Human Resources Director is a full-time position that manages the Human Resources department and oversees all HR functions including employee relations, benefits and compensation, legal and internal policy compliance, and talent acquisition. The HR Director plays a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture in alignment with the firm’s values, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies in collaboration with the firm’s employment counsel.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience, preferably in the legal industry or another professional services industry. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications or related fields, or the equivalent education and professional experience. SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Responsibilities
Developing and executing Human Resources strategy
Preparing and tracking an annual Human Resources budget
Managing firm staff
Leading staff workforce planning, including professional development, recruiting and onboarding
Supporting attorney recruiting and onboarding efforts
Ensuring legal and internal policy compliance
Managing benefits and compensation administration and communication
Managing staff performance reviews
Addressing staff performance issues
Coordinating with operations teams to ensure an efficient and well-run office environment
Promoting firm celebrations and other culture/morale activities and events
Participating in Dunn Carney’s inclusion and diversity committee, and the firm’s private foundation, Dunn Carney Cares
Reporting to the Managing Partner

Data analysis skills to inform workforce planning and other HR strategies and policy
Financial acumen necessary to develop/track HR budget and operational costs
