Position: Human Resource Generalist

Location: Arvada, CO (Hybrid)

Schedule: 20 hours per week/flexible times; This position is a contract position with no specific end date

Applewood Seed is a leading producer and wholesaler of premium wildflower, native grass, and herb seed. We proudly serve wholesale, commercial, government and seed industry partners, offering high-quality open-pollinated seeds. 

Purpose of Position:

This position will act as the primary contact for all Human Resource needs, questions, concerns and provide guidance on laws related to federal, state and policies regarding Applewood Seed Company.

Key Accountabilities:

      Responsible for recruiting, screening and interviewing all potential candidates

      Onboarding of all new employees

      Coordinating all employee relations including employee concerns/interests and conflicts  

      Fostering a collaborative work environment across all units/employees of the company

      Responsible for administrating employee benefit programs including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing.

      Assist with annual benefits negotiations with broker and coordinate yearly open enrollment 

      Research and maintain competitive/accurate compensation for each position

      Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly performance reviews on a timely basis

      Work with supervisors and employees to improve work performance when required and to set goals for future success in the workplace including performance improvement plans

      Accurately maintain all employee records

      Working knowledge of OSHA

      Foster a positive culture that aligns with Applewood Seed Company’s history

      Other duties as assigned

 Minimum Requirements:

      Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related business area

      5 years direct Human Resources Generalist experience

      SHRM-CP designation desired but not required

      ESOP experience desired but not required

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

      Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related business area

      5 years direct Human Resources Generalist experience

      SHRM-CP designation desired but not required

      ESOP experience desired but not required
