POSITION SPECIFICS
Part-time, 20 hours per week; benefited position, flexible schedule of normal day hours (can be partial shifts) with every other Monday and Tuesday required for conducting New Employee Orientation; Experience-based pay
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Specialist II is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, evaluation and facilitation of new hire orientation for all staff. The Specialist II is also responsible for administrative activities related to in-service education, certification courses, competency completion and other coursework via the learning management system. The Specialist II is regularly visible and accessible to serve as a resource for staff.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTION
- Manage the new hire orientation program to include development, coordination, running, and evaluating hospital new hire employee orientation.
- Assist with onboarding communication for all new hires.
- Manage/track all new hire orientation documentation in learning management system.
- Assist with completion of and filing of new hire paperwork and certifications.
- Assist with maintaining required documentation elements for staff education within learning management system.
- Assist with tracking of licensures, certifications, and background checks.
- Facilitate the coordination and training/scheduling related to staff certifications and education as assigned.
- Manage the hospital wellness initiative to include chairing and directing activities of the committee.
- Assist with job fair attendance/staffing booth.
- Manage the staff birthday card process/benefit.
- Manage the gift of time benefit.
- Manage the service award program to include badge accent ordering and distribution, award file notification and provide awardee information to marketing.
- Assist the gift shop with staffing as needed.
- Comply with Tomah Health Standards of Behavior.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
- 23 years' healthcare experience preferred.

- Possess the following skills: excellent project management skills, strong computer skills and interest in technology, effective teaching/instructional skills, excellent oral and written communication, and critical thinking
- Excellent human relation skills as demonstrated by the ability to interface positively with all customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to work with frequent interruptions, under stress, with minimal supervision, and to exercise initiative and judgment in analyzing, organizing, planning, prioritizing, scheduling and coordinating work with others.
- Needs to possess a high level of intelligence, integrity, sense of responsibility and ability to comprehend and analyze details.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Duties require normal vision and hearing for both phone, computer, and customer service work.
- Frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms as well as required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Requires extended periods of sitting in one position and constant computer use.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
