TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
POSITION: EXEMPT - SALARIED
REPORTS TO: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees, scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, counseling employees and supervisors
- Process benefit enrollments, time off, sick leave, leave of absence, FMLA, policies and programs
- Maintains and ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements in labor law and human resource areas
- Conducts exit interviews and makes recommendations to management team for any corrective actions or continuous improvements based on these interviews
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
- Maintains human resource records utilizing HRIS
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Conducts investigations into safety issues, maintaining applicable records
- Ensure that employee hours are correct and that all payroll changes are provided to Finance Department in a timely manner
- Champion company culture
- Monitor, administer and ensure compliance to safety requirements and programs
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-year college (4 year preferred) and/or minimum 4 years' experience in an HR environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff
- Solutions and Results driven
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Must be well organized; able to set priorities; decisive; detail oriented
- Able to handle delegation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Possess team and individual leadership skills, coaching and mentoring skills
- Strong oral / written communication skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe
- PHR/SPHR Certification
