Indiana University, one of the largest employers in the state, is actively seeking a Regional HR Director for IU Kokomo, IU East and IU Southeast. This position will be located on the IU Kokomo campus.The Office of Human Resources is responsible for programs and services that attract, develop, and retain IU employees in ways that align with the university's overall mission, strategic objectives, and desired culture.

This position will have a dual reporting line with the Regional Senior Human Resources Director and will actively participate as part of campus operations for IU Kokomo, IU East, and IU Southeast.
Job Summary
The Regional Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for helping align HR strategies with the goals of management on designated campuses. By forming partnerships across the campuses, the HR Director delivers value-added services that reflect the operational and people objectives of the campus and university. Position HR as a trusted partner with a key focus on developing a strong understanding of the organizational needs, culture, policies and talent while guiding HR teams and managers.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides consulting and HR solutions to clients to support the greatest overarching HR needs as determined by the campus by working alongside management in providing guidance on HR and university policies and practices.
- Partners with Senior HR Director to better align HR processes for staff and academic employees by collecting and assessing workflows, forms and systems.
- Ensures that the campuses attract and maintain a high-caliber workforce. Leads efforts in recruiting and retaining staff, faculty, and academic positions, collaborating closely with IU
- Human Resources and hiring managers to attract top talent. Fosters best practice in the selection process, including candidate evaluation and interviewing. Develops and implements strong onboarding programs to ensure smooth transitions for staff, academic, and student employees, fostering long-term success and retention.
- Provides daily coaching and career development guidance to management, leading departmental initiatives for the Performance at IU program.
- Drives initiatives to strengthen employee relationships, improve morale, and enhance productivity and retention through MyVoice at IU engagement programming.
- Partners with IU Human Resources to manage leaves, ADA, performance improvement, and corrective actions.
- Ensures compliance with legal standards related to employee management, minimizing risk and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
- Partners with IU Human Resources to perform compensation analysis and serves as the departmental resource on compensation policies and practices for all applicable position classifications.
- Develops, motivates and leads a highly effective academic and/or staff HR team that delivers value to the organization with expert recruiting, talent and development, succession planning and other human capital activities.
- Partners directly with leadership to develop and implement academic and/or staff HR strategies. Provides strategic academic and/or staff HR oversight to specified client groups, acting as a trusted adviser to leadership.
- Acts as a primary point of contact for senior leaders, providing expertise and guidance in the areas of organizational performance, culture, and change.
- Coaches leaders on leadership behaviors and practices focusing on development and performance strategies to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
- Lead key academic and/or staff HR processes and initiatives, leveraging and partnering with COE's.
- Provides strategic academic and/or staff HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on the most complex issues to leadership.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or related field.
- Master's degree in related field
Required
- 5 years progressively responsible HR or related experience influencing a wide variety of internal stakeholders
- 2 years of management experience Management experience in HR or related functions
Preferred
- SHRM-SCP/SHPR

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Travel to our IU Southeast and IU East campuses.
