Description
Human Resources Specialist | Boutique IP Law Firm
The Opportunity
A specialized, boutique Intellectual Property law firm in the San Gabriel Valley is looking for a mid-level HR professional to join us during a period of meaningful growth. This is more than an administrative role—you will manage the full range of HR operations, from recruiting and benefits to payroll and systems, while also serving as the cultural anchor of the firm.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment, and understands that a firm is only as strong as the individuals behind it. You will benefit from a cross-training period with our retiring Office Manager to ensure a smooth transition into the team.
Responsibilities
- Culture & Employee Relations
Develop and implement strategies that promote a collaborative, high-morale workplace across our remote-first team.
Serve as a balanced and empathetic mediator when navigating interpersonal challenges or staff concerns, working toward productive and fair outcomes.
Coordinate firm events and team-building initiatives that strengthen connection and engagement, particularly for remote colleagues.
- Talent & Performance
Lead full-cycle recruitment with an eye toward identifying candidates who will genuinely thrive in a boutique setting—not just checking boxes on a resume.
Facilitate performance evaluation and compensation processes that recognize individual contributions and support professional development.
Design a thoughtful onboarding experience that helps new hires integrate quickly and feel welcome from day one.
- Operations & Compliance
Administer benefits and manage payroll, leveraging AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with firm leadership and external vendors to implement systems and processes that support employees and streamline operations.
Maintain rigorous standards of legal compliance and integrity across all HR practices.
